Connect Background

Over the last few years, a diverse group of local agency and system representatives, within the domestic and sexual violence sector, have been working together to provide centralized access to seamless, comprehensive services and support for those impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault and abuse.

By Fall of 2008, the process became a reality and the Calgary Collaborative Services Centre was piloted in the Sheldon M. Chumir Health Centre. As part of the collaboration, staff from partnering agencies were collocated at the Centre to ensure individuals referred received support and were able to access the wide range of excellent services that are available in Calgary.

A year later, the project was officially launched to the public under its new name, Connect Family and Sexual Abuse Network.
